ARC
2019/Massage Robot/Personal Project
ARC is a conceptual design for an automated robot equipped with three-axis mobile massagers. The robot can be summoned to a designated location using a smartphone app, offering massage services on demand. After completing the session, it automatically returns to its storage location and transforms into a more compact, space-saving form. Using machine vision through its cameras, the robot analyzes the massage treatment and adjusts its movements and intensity based on voice commands or hand gestures from the user.
This personal case study explored the business potential of robotics in future industries. My research identified a high demand for massage services. As privacy and hygiene standards become increasingly important, finding reasonably priced, high-quality massage therapists has become more challenging. This design offers a reliable, on-demand massage solution that could also serve as an accessible option for fitness and medical facilities.
